Biking in Orange County

For all the roadies out there, OCTA has the latest bike trail and map available. High Resolution PDF is available here: http://www.octa.net/bikemaps/bike6.htm

I try to ride Laguna Canyon Road once every week. The ride itself is not too bad, outside of the Human Pingball area near the Festival of the Arts (its fun dodging people, dogs, cars, and buses).

For your amusement, read about Austin Murphy (SI.com) and his Tour de France experience. ttp://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/austin_murphy/07/27/tour.excursion/index.html

UPDATE: Better post provided by Adam is available here

The Laguna Canyon ride isn't quite a category climb, but it certainly has a pretty steep component at the beginning (if coming from Irvine).

Here is a route map and elevation guide to the 133/Laguna Canyon hill.
